South Pontotoc Cougars (Pontotoc, MS) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Senatobia Warriors (Senatobia, MS), 55-37 in a league bout.

With the win, South Pontotoc upgrades its record to 18-6 on the season. The Cougars travel to New Albany (New Albany, MS) to clash with the Bulldogs in a 4A Region 2 bout on Tuesday, January 30. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a record of 13-8. New Albany won 60-51 in their recent league bout against North Pontotoc (Ecru, MS)

Next up, the Warriors clash with the Byhalia Indians (Byhalia, MS) in a 4A Region 2 bout, on Tuesday, January 30. Senatobia will attempt to upgrade on its 12-6 season record. The Indians go into the bout with a 6-9 record after their 85-55 non-league loss to Olive Branch (Olive Branch, MS).
