South County Stallions (Lorton, VA) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting West Springfield Spartans (Springfield, VA), 58-49 in a league bout.

With the win, South County upgrades its record to 12-6 on the season. The Stallions travel to Robinson (Fairfax, VA) to clash with the Rams in a District 4 bout on Thursday, February 1. The Rams go into the bout with a record of 5-14. Robinson lost 63-35 in their recent league bout against Fairfax (Fairfax, VA)

Next up, the Spartans clash with the Woodson Cavaliers (Fairfax, VA) in a District 4 bout, on Thursday, February 1. West Springfield will attempt to upgrade on its 4-13 season record. The Cavaliers go into the bout with a 13-6 record after their 77-39 league win over Lake Braddock (Burke, VA).
