New Mexico High School Basketball - Manzano edges Belen

January 29, 2024: Albuquerque, NM 87112

The Manzano Monarchs (Albuquerque, NM) basketball nipped the visiting Belen Eagles (Belen, NM), 54-51 in Monday's non-league test.

The Monarchs (5-12) will now prepare for their test against Santa Fe (Santa Fe, NM). The Demons go into the 5A District 5 test with a 5-13 record. In their last test, Santa Fe was tipped by Los Lunas (Los Lunas, NM), 46-21, in a league test.

The Eagles now own a 7-11 record. They play next when they host Grants for a 4A District 5 test on Friday, February 2. Belen will encounter a Pirates squad coming off a 39-31 league loss to Highland (Albuquerque, NM). The Pirates record now stands at 3-17.
