Illinois High School Basketball - Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City nips Brownstown

Fans at Monday's league challenge between the Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City Bobcats (Cowden, IL) and the host Brownstown Bombers (Brownstown, IL), saw Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City's basketball squad hold off Brownstown by a count of 60-53.

With the victory, Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City upgrades its record to 14-11 on the campaign. The Bobcats travel to Sandoval (Sandoval, IL) to play the Blackhawks in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, January 30. The Blackhawks come into the challenge with a record of 13-15. Sandoval won 51-40 in their recent non-league challenge against Martinsville (Martinsville, IL)

Next up, the Bombers play the St. Anthony Bulldogs (Effingham, IL) in a National Trail challenge, on Thursday, February 1. Brownstown will attempt to upgrade on its 23-6 season record. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a 21-6 record after their 77-40 league win over North Clay/Clay City (Louisville, IL).
