Norwin Knights (North Huntingdon, PA) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Butler Golden Tornado (Butler, PA), 64-47 in a league bout.

With the win, Norwin upgrades its record to 15-3 on the season. The Knights host Hempfield Area (Greensburg, PA) to clash with the Spartans in a WPIAL 6A 1 bout on Thursday, February 1. The Spartans go into the bout with a record of 8-9. Hempfield Area won 36-32 in their recent league bout against Seneca Valley (Harmony, PA)

Next up, the Golden Tornado clash with the North Allegheny Tigers (Wexford, PA) in a WPIAL 6A 1 bout, on Friday, February 2. Butler will attempt to upgrade on its 4-13 season record. The Tigers go into the bout with a 16-2 record after their 59-38 league win over Pine-Richland (Gibsonia, PA).
