Centralia Orphans (Centralia, IL) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Mt. Vernon Rams (Mt. Vernon, IL), 67-49 in a league bout.

With the win, Centralia upgrades its record to 15-9 on the season. The Orphans travel to Collinsville (Collinsville, IL) to clash with the Kahoks in a non-league bout on Thursday, February 1. The Kahoks go into the bout with a record of 11-13. Collinsville lost 60-26 in their recent league bout against Edwardsville (Edwardsville, IL)

Next up, the Rams clash with the Marion Wildcats (Marion, IL) in a South Seven bout, on Thursday, February 1. Mt. Vernon will attempt to upgrade on its 22-5 season record. The Wildcats go into the bout with a 10-17 record after their 57-50 league win over Carbondale (Carbondale, IL).
