The Wellborn Panthers (Anniston, AL) basketball nipped the visiting Cleburne County Tigers (Heflin, AL), 58-57 in Monday's non-league test.
The Panthers (8-11) will now prepare for their test against Jacksonville Christian Academy (Jacksonville, AL). The Thunder go into the non-league test with a 9-13 record. In their last test, Jacksonville Christian Academy got by Alabama School for the Deaf (Talladega, AL), 52-31, in a non-league test.
The Tigers now own a 6-16 record. They play next when they host Randolph County for a non-league test on Tuesday, January 30. Cleburne County will encounter a Tigers squad coming off a 63-34 league win over Beulah (Valley, AL). The Tigers record now stands at 13-12.
