Highland Cardinals (Highland, WI) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Shullsburg Miners (Shullsburg, WI), 42-35 in a league bout.

With the win, Highland upgrades its record to 16-6 on the season. The Cardinals host Belmont (Belmont, WI) to clash with the Braves in a Six Rivers - West bout on Thursday, February 1. The Braves go into the bout with a record of 14-6. Belmont won 48-40 in their recent non-league bout against Wauzeka-Steuben (Wauzeka, WI)

Next up, the Miners clash with the Lancaster Flying Arrows (Lancaster, WI) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 30. Shullsburg will attempt to upgrade on its 6-13 season record. The Flying Arrows go into the bout with a 6-10 record after their 56-23 non-league win over Southwestern (Hazel Green, WI).
