The Waiakea Warriors routed the visiting Hilo Vikings basketball team by a final score of 49-9 in Monday's league game.

In their next game, the Warriors face the Konawaena Wildcats (Kealakekua, HI) in a Big Island game, on Wednesday, January 31. Waiakea will attempt to move on its 15-4 season record. The Wildcats enter the game with a 18-4 record after their 67-13 league win over Kea'au (Kea'au, HI).

With the defeat, Hilo moves to 3-11 on the year.
