University Prep Academy Golden Eagles (San Jose, CA) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Luis Valdez Leadership Academy Lions (San Jose, CA), 31-11 in a league bout.

With the win, University Prep Academy upgrades its record to 12-6 on the season. The Golden Eagles travel to Menlo School (Atherton, CA) to play the Knights in a non-league bout on Wednesday, January 31. The Knights go into the bout with a record of 12-6. Menlo School won 44-38 in their recent league bout against Notre Dame (Belmont, CA)

Next up, the Lions play the East Palo Alto Academy Bulldogs (East Palo Alto, CA) in a non-league bout, on Friday, February 2. Luis Valdez Leadership Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 5-7 season record. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a 0-7 record after their 50-2 league loss to DCP Alum Rock (San Jose, CA).
