Midway/Minto Mustangs (Inkster, ND) backers were pleased Monday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting North Star co-op [Cando/Bisbee-Egeland/Munich/Starkweather] Bearcats (Cando, ND), 42-40 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Midway/Minto upgrades its record to 11-5 on the campaign. The Mustangs travel to North Border co-op [Walhalla/Pembina] (Walhalla, ND) to play the Eagles in a B District 3 bout on Tuesday, January 30. The Eagles come into the bout with a record of 7-8. North Border co-op [Walhalla/Pembina] lost 46-36 in their recent league bout against Park River/Fordville-Lankin (Park River, ND)

Next up, the Bearcats play the Griggs County Central/Midkota Cougars (Cooperstown, ND) in a non-league bout, on Friday, February 2. North Star co-op [Cando/Bisbee-Egeland/Munich/Starkweather] will attempt to upgrade on its 4-7 season record.
