Sterling Raiders (Houston, TX) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Northside Panthers (Houston, TX), 54-43 in a league bout.

With the win, Sterling upgrades its record to 19-4 on the season. The Raiders host Wisdom (Houston, TX) to play the Generals in a 5A Region III District 19 bout on Friday, February 2. The Generals go into the bout with a record of 5-9. Wisdom won 26-18 in their recent league bout against Waltrip (Houston, TX)

Next up, the Panthers play the Galena Park Yellowjackets (Galena Park, TX) in a 5A Region III District 19 bout, on Friday, February 2. Northside will attempt to upgrade on its 8-10 season record. The Yellowjackets go into the bout with a 14-14 record after their 44-16 league win over Waltrip (Houston, TX).
