Oakes Tornadoes (Oakes, ND) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Richland Colts (Colfax, ND), 60-58 in a league bout.

With the win, Oakes upgrades its record to 12-4 on the season. The Tornadoes travel to LaMoure/Litchville-Marion (LaMoure, ND) to play the Loboes in a non-league bout on Thursday, February 1. The Loboes go into the bout with a record of 11-9. LaMoure/Litchville-Marion won 57-30 in their recent league bout against South Border co-op [Wishek/Ashley] (Wishek, ND)

Next up, the Colts play the Wyndmere/Lidgerwood Warbirds (Wyndmere, ND) in a B District 1 bout, on Thursday, February 1. Richland will attempt to upgrade on its 6-12 season record. The Warbirds go into the bout with a 9-8 record after their 48-35 non-league loss to Edgeley/Kulm/Montpelier (Edgeley, ND).
