Fans at Monday's league challenge between the Roxana Shells (Roxana, IL) and the visiting Salem Wildcats (Salem, IL), saw Roxana's basketball squad hold off Salem by a count of 40-38.

With the victory, Roxana upgrades its record to 12-14 on the campaign. The Shells host Rosati-Kain (St. Louis, MO) to play the Kougers in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, January 31. The Kougers come into the challenge with a record of 0-5. Rosati-Kain lost 43-12 in their recent non-league challenge against Christian School District (O'Fallon, MO)

Next up, the Wildcats play the Freeburg Midgets (Freeburg, IL) in a Cahokia - Mississippi challenge, on Thursday, February 1. Salem will attempt to upgrade on its 14-12 season record. The Midgets come into the challenge with a 15-11 record after their 44-28 league loss to Columbia (Columbia, IL).
