Southside Panthers (Gadsden, AL) backers were pleased Monday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Douglas Eagles (Douglas, AL), 53-44 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Southside upgrades its record to 18-4 on the campaign. The Panthers host Hokes Bluff (Hokes Bluff, AL) to play the Eagles in a bout on Tuesday, January 30. The Eagles come into the bout with a record of 0-3. Hokes Bluff lost 47-27 in their recent league bout against Westbrook Christian (Rainbow City, AL)
