The crowd at Wednesday's league challenge between the Auburn Eagles (Riner, VA) and the host Giles Spartans (Pearisburg, VA), observed Auburn's basketball team overwhelm Giles by a margin of 72-36.

The Eagles (11-5) will now prepare for their challenge against Grayson County (Independence, VA). The Blue Devils come into the Mountain Empire challenge with a 3-10 record. In their last challenge, Grayson County was trounced by Marion (Marion, VA), 54-53, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Spartans battle the Bland County Bears (Rocky Gap, VA) in a Mountain Empire challenge, on Tuesday, February 4. Giles will attempt to better on its 3-12 season record.
