The crowd at Wednesday's non-league challenge between the William Byrd Terriers (Vinton, VA) and the visiting Christiansburg Blue Demons (Christiansburg, VA), observed William Byrd's basketball team edge Christiansburg by a score of 66-60.
The Terriers (9-8) will now prepare for their challenge against Lord Botetourt (Daleville, VA). The Cavaliers come into the Blue Ridge challenge with a 7-9 record. In their last challenge, Lord Botetourt edged Staunton River (Moneta, VA), 60-54, in a league challenge.
In their next game, the Blue Demons encounter the Cave Spring Knights (Roanoke, VA) in a River Ridge challenge, on Friday, January 31. Christiansburg will attempt to move on its 3-14 season record. The Knights go into the bout with a 9-9 record after their 67-35 league loss to Patrick Henry (Roanoke, VA).
