The crowd at Wednesday's non-league challenge between the Chevak Comets (Chevak, AK) and the visiting Alakanuk Braves (Alakanuk, AK), observed Chevak's basketball team overwhelm Alakanuk by a score of 68-18.
The Comets (7-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Chaputnguak (Chefornak, AK). The Shaman enter the non-league battle with a 4-1 record. In their last battle, Chaputnguak walloped Tuluksak (Tuluksak, AK), 86-27, in a non-league battle.
The Braves now own a 2-8 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Tuluksak for a non-league battle on Thursday, January 30. Alakanuk will meet a Wolverines squad coming off a 86-27 non-league loss to Chaputnguak (Chefornak, AK). The Wolverines record now stands at 1-5.
