The Giles Spartans basketball team scored 56 points and limited the visiting Auburn Eagles to 50 in the Spartans league triumph on Wednesday.

With the victory, Giles upgrades its record to 2-13 on the year. The Spartans host Craig County (New Castle, VA) to face the Rockets in a non-league match on Thursday, January 30. The Rockets enter the match with a record of 1-12. Craig County lost 42-32 in their recent league match against Bath County (Hot Springs, VA)

The Eagles now sport a 6-12 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Grayson County for a Mountain Empire match on Friday, January 31. Auburn will face a Blue Devils squad coming off a 50-45 non-league loss to Marion (Marion, VA). The Blue Devils record now stands at 10-5.
