The crowd at Wednesday's league challenge between the Fairmont Firebirds (Kettering, OH) and the visiting Beavercreek Beavers (Beavercreek, OH), observed Fairmont's basketball team overwhelm Beavercreek by a margin of 62-37.

The Firebirds (15-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Northmont (Clayton, OH). The Thunderbolts come into the Greater Western Ohio challenge with a 2-15 record. In their last challenge, Northmont was trounced by Springboro (Springboro, OH), 85-29, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Beavers battle the Springboro Panthers (Springboro, OH) in a Greater Western Ohio challenge, on Saturday, February 1. Beavercreek will attempt to better on its 9-10 season record. The Panthers come into the challenge with a 13-4 record after their 85-29 league win over Northmont (Clayton, OH).
