The crowd at Wednesday's league challenge between the Galax Maroon Tide (Galax, VA) and the visiting Fort Chiswell Pioneers (Max Meadows, VA), observed Galax's basketball team overwhelm Fort Chiswell by a score of 65-38.

The Maroon Tide (12-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Bland County (Rocky Gap, VA). The Bears come into the Mountain Empire challenge with a 8-4 record. In their last challenge, Bland County was routed by George Wythe (Wytheville, VA), 53-36, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Pioneers encounter the George Wythe Maroons (Wytheville, VA) in a Mountain Empire challenge, on Friday, January 31. Fort Chiswell will attempt to improve on its 15-1 season record. The Maroons come into the challenge with a 12-2 record after their 53-36 league win over Bland County (Rocky Gap, VA).
