The crowd at Wednesday's non-league challenge between the Sandia Matadors (Albuquerque, NM) and the visiting Manzano Monarchs (Albuquerque, NM), observed Sandia's basketball team overwhelm Manzano by a score of 55-24.

The Matadors (5-5) will now prepare for their challenge against Eldorado (Albuquerque, NM). The Golden Eagles come into the challenge with a 8-8 record. In their last challenge, Eldorado was routed by Santa Fe (Santa Fe, NM), 47-35, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Monarchs encounter the Capital Jaguars (Santa Fe, NM) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, January 31. Manzano will attempt to improve on its 3-8 season record.
