The Topsail Pirates basketball team scored 50 points and limited the visiting Ashley Screaming Eagle to 49 in the Pirates non-league triumph on Wednesday.

The Pirates now have a 7-10 record. They play next when they travel to West Brunswick for a non-league game on Friday, January 31. Topsail will confront a Trojans team coming off a 52-34 league loss to New Hanover (Wilmington, NC). The Trojans record now stands at 8-7.

With the loss, Ashley falls to 6-8 on the campaign. The Screaming eagle host New Hanover (Wilmington, NC) to confront the Wildcats in a game on Friday, January 31. The Wildcats go into the game with a record of 9-1. New Hanover won 52-34 in their recent league game against West Brunswick (Shallotte, NC)
