The Gates County Red Barons basketball team scored 57 points and limited the visiting North East Carolina Prep Husky to 35 in the Red Barons non-league triumph on Wednesday.

The Red Barons now have a 2-7 record. They play next when they host Bertie for a game on Friday, January 31. Gates County will confront a Falcons team coming off a 59-39 league win over Martin County (Williamston, NC). The Falcons record now stands at 10-1.

With the loss, North East Carolina Prep falls to 1-9 on the campaign. The Husky host Perquimans (Hertford, NC) to confront the Pirates in a non-league game on Friday, January 31. The Pirates go into the game with a record of 6-6. Perquimans won 45-40 in their recent non-league game against Washington County (Plymouth, NC)
