The James Monroe Mavericks basketball team scored 53 points and limited the host Narrows Green Waves to 31 in the Mavericks non-league triumph on Wednesday.

The Mavericks now possess a 2-0 record. They play next when they host Wyoming East for a non-league game on Friday, January 31.

With the loss, Narrows falls to 4-8 on the campaign. The Green waves travel to Eastern Montgomery (Elliston, VA) to play the Mustangs in a game on Friday, January 31. The Mustangs go into the game with a record of 10-5. Eastern Montgomery lost 42-41 in their recent non-league game against Parry McCluer (Buena Vista, VA)
