The Smithfield Sentinels basketball team scored 53 points and limited the host Johnston Panthers to 50 in the Sentinels non-league triumph on Wednesday.

The Sentinels now possess a 8-6 record. They play next when they host Shea for a non-league game on Friday, January 31.

With the loss, Johnston falls to 6-8 on the campaign. The Panthers host Classical (Providence, RI) to confront the Purple in a non-league game on Saturday, February 1. The Purple go into the game with a record of 8-5. Classical lost 58-50 in their recent non-league game against La Salle Academy (Providence, RI)
