Fans at Wednesday's league battle between the La Costa Canyon Mavericks (Carlsbad, CA) and the visiting Carlsbad Lancers (Carlsbad, CA), saw La Costa Canyon's soccer squad prevail over Carlsbad by a count of 5-1.

The Mavericks (7-5) will now prepare for their battle against Rancho Buena Vista (Vista, CA). The Longhorns enter the Coastal (NCC) battle with a 11-4 record. In their last battle, Rancho Buena Vista tipped San Dieguito Academy (Encinitas, CA), 2-1, in a league battle.

Next up, the Lancers battle the Oceanside Pirates (Oceanside, CA) in a Coastal (NCC) battle, on Friday, January 31. Carlsbad will attempt to upgrade on its 2-10 season record. The Pirates enter the battle with a 13-0 record after their 3-0 league win over Torrey Pines (San Diego, CA).
