The Eagles now sport a 8-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Giles for a Mountain Empire contest on Thursday, January 5. Auburn will battle a Spartans team coming off a 53-42 league loss to Bland County (Rocky Gap, VA). The Spartans record now stands at 2-4.

The Pioneers (4-6) will now prepare for their contest against Galax (Galax, VA). The Maroon Tide enter the Mountain Empire contest with a 0-9 record. In their last contest, Galax was routed by Rural Retreat (Rural Retreat, VA), 54-42, in a non-league contest.
