Oakwood Panthers (Oakwood, TX) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Avalon Eagles (Avalon, TX), 32-29 in a league bout.

With the win, Oakwood upgrades its record to 2-4 on the season. The Panthers host Trinidad (Trinidad, TX) to play the Trojans in a 1A Region IV District 26 bout on Tuesday, January 10. The Trojans go into the bout with a record of 2-10. Trinidad lost 68-35 in their recent league bout against Milford (Milford, TX)

Next up, the Eagles play the Bynum Bulldogs (Bynum, TX) in a 1A Region IV District 26 bout, on Friday, January 6. Avalon will attempt to upgrade on its 8-9 season record. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a 10-4 record after their 29-27 league loss to Penelope (Penelope, TX).
