Buena Vista Longhorns (Imperial, TX) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Marathon Mustangs (Marathon, TX), 1-0 in a league bout.

With the win, Buena Vista upgrades its record to 11-6 on the season. The Longhorns host Grandfalls-Royalty (Grandfalls, TX) to clash with the Cowboys in a 1A Region II District 10 bout on Friday, January 6. The Cowboys go into the bout with a record of 1-9. Grandfalls-Royalty won 39-34 in their recent league bout against Iraan (Iraan, TX)

Next up, the Mustangs clash with the Grandfalls-Royalty Cowboys (Grandfalls, TX) in a 1A Region II District 10 bout, on Friday, January 13. Marathon will attempt to upgrade on its 0-2 season record.
