With the win, Buna upgrades its record to 10-10 on the season. The Cougars host Hardin (Hardin, TX) to clash with the Hornets in a 3A Region III District 22 bout on Friday, January 6. The Hornets go into the bout with a record of 3-12. Hardin lost 77-38 in their recent league bout against Orangefield (Orangefield, TX)

Next up, the Wildcats clash with the Anahuac Panthers (Anahuac, TX) in a 3A Region III District 22 game, on Friday, January 6. Kirbyville will attempt to move on its 5-14 season record. The Panthers enter the game with a 10-11 record after their 55-44 league loss to East Chambers (Winnie, TX).
