Texas High School Basketball - Canyon can't hold off Pieper

The Pieper Warriors basketball team scored 58 points and restricted the host Canyon Cougars to 55 in the Warriors league victory on Tuesday.

The Warriors now sport a 17-4 record. They put it on the line next when they host Boerne-Champion for a 5A Region IV District 26 contest on Friday, January 6. Pieper will battle a Chargers team coming off a 54-34 league win over Tivy (Kerrville, TX). The Chargers record now stands at 20-1.

The Cougars (6-17) will now prepare for their contest against Smithson Valley (Spring Branch, TX). The Rangers come into the 5A Region IV District 26 contest with a 2-14 record. In their last contest, Smithson Valley was nudged by Veterans Memorial (San Antonio, TX), 76-53, in a league contest.
