Lovejoy Leopards (Lucas, TX) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Denison Yellow Jackets (Denison, TX), 74-40 in a league bout.

With the win, Lovejoy upgrades its record to 14-4 on the campaign. The Leopards host Princeton (Princeton, TX) to confront the Panthers in a 5A Region II District 13 challenge on Friday, January 6. The Panthers come into the challenge with a record of 9-10. Princeton won 44-42 in their recent league challenge against McKinney North (McKinney, TX)

Next up, the Yellow Jackets confront the Melissa Cardinals (Melissa, TX) in a 5A Region II District 13 challenge, on Friday, January 6. Denison will attempt to improve on its 7-12 season record. The Cardinals come into the challenge with a 13-10 record after their 74-58 league win over Sherman (Sherman, TX).
