Elkins Tigers (Elkins, WV) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Lincoln Cougars (Shinnston, WV), 52-42 in a league bout.

With the win, Elkins upgrades its record to 5-2 on the season. The Tigers travel to North Marion (Farmington, WV) to clash with the Huskies in a Big Ten bout on Thursday, January 5. The Huskies go into the bout with a record of 2-2. North Marion won 70-64 in their recent non-league bout against Berkeley Springs (Berkeley Springs, WV)

Next up, the Cougars clash with the Lewis County Minutemen (Weston, WV) in a Big Ten bout, on Thursday, January 5. Lincoln will attempt to upgrade on its 5-3 season record. The Minutemen go into the bout with a 4-3 record after their 62-38 league win over Preston (Kingwood, WV).
