River Pilots (Hannibal, OH) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Frontier Cougars (New Matamoras, OH), 57-37 in a league bout.

With the win, River upgrades its record to 8-2 on the season. The Pilots travel to Barnesville (Barnesville, OH) to clash with the Shamrocks in a non-league bout on Friday, January 6. The Shamrocks go into the bout with a record of 2-8. Barnesville lost 69-59 in their recent league bout against Caldwell (Caldwell, OH)

Next up, the Cougars clash with the Bridgeport Bulldogs (Bridgeport, OH) in a Ohio Valley AA bout, on Friday, January 6. Frontier will attempt to upgrade on its 2-7 season record. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a 4-7 record after their 54-27 league loss to Catholic Central (Steubenville, OH).
