Honaker Tigers (Honaker, VA) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Grundy Golden Wave (Grundy, VA), 55-53 in a league bout.

With the win, Honaker upgrades its record to 4-5 on the season. The Tigers travel to Twin Valley (Pilgrims Knob, VA) to clash with the Panthers in a Black Diamond bout on Friday, January 6. The Panthers go into the bout with a record of 0-8.

Next up, the Golden Wave clash with the Richlands Blue Tornado (Richlands, VA) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, January 5. Grundy will attempt to upgrade on its 2-5 season record. The Blue Tornado go into the bout with a 2-7 record after their 97-65 non-league loss to East Ridge (Lick Creek, KY).
