In Tuesday's non-league outing, the Heatly Hornets (Troy, NY) basketball squad nipped the visiting Sharon Springs Central Spartans (Sharon Springs, NY), by a margin of 54-51.

The Hornets (2-7) will now prepare for their outing against Hawthorne Valley (Ghent, NY). The Wildcats go into the Section 2 Central Hudson Valley outing with a 3-2 record. In their last outing, Hawthorne Valley was tipped by Voorheesville (Voorheesville, NY), 82-34, in a non-league outing.

The Spartans now own a 2-5 record. They play next when they travel to Schenevus Central for a Section 4 Tri-Valley outing on Thursday, January 5. Sharon Springs Central will encounter a Dragons squad coming off a 56-29 non-league loss to Charlotte Valley (Davenport, NY). The Dragons record now stands at 1-6.
