    Philipsburg-Osceola Mountaineers (Philipsburg, PA) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Huntingdon Bearcats (Huntingdon, PA), 62-52 in a league bout.

    With the win, Philipsburg-Osceola upgrades its record to 2-5 on the season. The Mountaineers host Penns Valley Area (Spring Mills, PA) to play the Rams in a Mountain bout on Thursday, January 5. The Rams go into the bout with a record of 1-6. Penns Valley Area lost 55-51 in their recent non-league bout against Juniata Valley (Alexandria, PA)

    Next up, the Bearcats play the Tyrone Golden Eagles (Tyrone, PA) in a Mountain bout, on Thursday, January 5. Huntingdon will attempt to upgrade on its 3-5 season record. The Golden Eagles go into the bout with a 4-3 record after their 61-59 league loss to Clearfield (Clearfield, PA).
