Kaufman Lions (Kaufman, TX) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Sunnyvale (Sunnyvale, TX), 40-39 in a league bout.

With the win, Kaufman upgrades its record to 4-16 on the season. The Lions travel to Ford (Quinlan, TX) to clash with the Panthers in a 4A Region II District 14 bout on Friday, January 6. The Panthers go into the bout with a record of 5-11. Ford won 47-37 in their recent league bout against Farmersville (Farmersville, TX)

Next up, the clash with the Community Braves (Nevada, TX) in a 4A Region II District 14 bout, on Friday, January 6. Sunnyvale will attempt to upgrade on its 13-7 season record. The Braves go into the bout with a 2-15 record after their 64-48 league loss to Wills Point (Wills Point, TX).
