Laurel Spartans (Laurel, MD) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Suitland Rams (Forestville, MD), 57-52 in a league bout.

With the win, Laurel upgrades its record to 5-3 on the season. The Spartans travel to Parkdale (Riverdale, MD) to play the Panthers in a Prince George's County 4A bout on Thursday, January 5. The Panthers go into the bout with a record of 3-7. Parkdale lost 61-58 in their recent league bout against Bladensburg (Bladensburg, MD)

Next up, the Rams play the DuVal Tigers (Lanham, MD) in a Prince George's County 4A bout, on Thursday, January 5. Suitland will attempt to upgrade on its 5-3 season record. The Tigers go into the bout with a 3-2 record after their 74-56 league loss to Wise (Upper Marlboro, MD).
