Monmouth Academy Mustangs (Monmouth, ME) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Winthrop Ramblers (Winthrop, ME), 59-44 in a league bout.

With the win, Monmouth Academy upgrades its record to 6-1 on the season. The Mustangs travel to Madison (Madison, ME) to play the Bulldogs in a C South bout on Thursday, January 5. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a record of 1-4. Madison lost 58-30 in their recent non-league bout against Spruce Mountain (Jay, ME)

Next up, the Ramblers play the Spruce Mountain Phoenix (Jay, ME) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, January 5. Winthrop will attempt to upgrade on its 2-3 season record. The Phoenix go into the bout with a 6-2 record after their 69-43 non-league win over Boothbay (Boothbay Harbor, ME).
