The Orange County Fighting Hornets (Orange, VA) basketball knocked off the host Monticello Mustangs (Charlottesville, VA), 55-40 in Tuesday's league test.

The Fighting Hornets (7-3) will now prepare for their test against Louisa County (Mineral, VA). The Lions go into the Jefferson test with a 1-7 record. In their last test, Louisa County went down by Western Albemarle (Crozet, VA), 72-39, in a league test.

The Mustangs now own a 1-7 record. They play next when they host Park View for a non-league test on Wednesday, January 4. Monticello will encounter a Patriots squad coming off a 47-37 non-league win over Spotsylvania (Spotsylvania, VA). The Patriots record now stands at 8-0.
