Morgan County Cougars (West Liberty, KY) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting West Carter Comets (Olive Hill, KY), 69-55 in a league bout.

With the win, Morgan County upgrades its record to 9-1 on the season. The Cougars travel to Greenup County (Greenup, KY) to play the Musketeers in a non-league bout on Thursday, January 5. The Musketeers go into the bout with a record of 3-6. Greenup County lost 64-55 in their recent non-league bout against Estill County (Irvine, KY)

Next up, the Comets play the East Carter Raiders (Grayson, KY) in a District 62 bout, on Thursday, January 5. West Carter will attempt to upgrade on its 2-8 season record. The Raiders go into the bout with a 5-5 record after their 46-41 non-league loss to Russell (Russell, KY).
