With the win, Mt. Zion upgrades its record to 15-2 on the season. The Braves travel to Effingham (Effingham, IL) to play the Flaming Hearts in a Apollo bout on Friday, January 6. The Flaming Hearts go into the bout with a record of 6-11. Effingham lost 66-52 in their recent non-league bout against Richland County (Olney, IL)

Next up, the Sabers play the Pleasant Plains Cardinals (Pleasant Plains, IL) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 7. St. Thomas More will attempt to upgrade on its 9-6 season record. The Cardinals go into the bout with a 10-2 record after their 59-56 non-league win over Pittsfield (Pittsfield, IL).
