The Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines basketball team scored 74 points and held the visiting New York Mills Eagles to 52 in the Wolverines non-league triumph on Tuesday.
The Wolverines now sport a 4-2 record. They put it on the line next when they host Henning for a non-league contest on Thursday, January 5. Wadena-Deer Creek will battle a Hornets team coming off a 53-39 league win over Battle Lake (Battle Lake, MN). The Hornets record now stands at 7-0.
The Eagles (0-9) will now prepare for their contest against Pillager (Pillager, MN). The Huskies enter the AA Section 7 contest with a 1-4 record. In their last contest, Pillager was routed by Crosby-Ironton (Crosby, MN), 75-59, in a non-league contest.
