In Tuesday's non-league outing, the Athens Warriors (Athens, IL) basketball squad beat the visiting Cuba/Spoon River Valley Wildcats (Cuba, IL), by a margin of 36-28.
The Warriors (9-4) will now prepare for their outing against Mt. Pulaski (Mt. Pulaski, IL). The Hilltoppers go into the Tomahawk outing with a 13-5 record. In their last outing, Mt. Pulaski was topped by Pana (Pana, IL), 62-51, in a non-league outing.
The Wildcats now own a 4-6 record. They play next when they host Bushnell-Prairie City for a Prairieland outing on Thursday, January 5. Cuba/Spoon River Valley will clash with a Spartans squad coming off a 53-14 non-league loss to Princeville (Princeville, IL). The Spartans record now stands at 4-12.
