The Merkel Badgers (Merkel, TX) basketball knocked off the host Ballinger Bearcats (Ballinger, TX), 52-34 in Tuesday's league test.

The Badgers (17-5) will now prepare for their test against Coahoma (Coahoma, TX). The Bulldogs go into the 3A Region I District 6 test with a 7-11 record. In their last test, Coahoma went down by Jim Ned (Tuscola, TX), 59-45, in a league test.
