Brookland Bearcats (Brookland, AR) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Highland Rebels (Hardy, AR), 53-45 in a league bout.

With the win, Brookland upgrades its record to 12-4 on the season. The Bearcats travel to Nettleton (Jonesboro, AR) to clash with the Raiders in a non-league bout on Wednesday, January 4. The Raiders go into the bout with a record of 11-1. Nettleton won 41-37 in their recent non-league bout against Melbourne (Melbourne, AR)

Next up, the Rebels clash with the Westside Warriors (Jonesboro, AR) in a 4A Region 3 bout, on Friday, January 6. Highland will attempt to upgrade on its 1-2 season record.
