Columbus Wildcats (Columbus Junction, IA) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Highland Huskies (Riverside, IA), 52-48 in a league bout.

With the victory, Columbus upgrades its record to 5-5 on the campaign. The Wildcats travel to Crestwood (Cresco, IA) to play the Cadets in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 3. The Cadets come into the bout with a record of 4-5. Crestwood lost 55-40 in their recent league bout against Waverly-Shell Rock (Waverly, IA)

Next up, the Huskies play the English Valleys Bears (North English, IA) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, January 5. Highland will attempt to upgrade on its 3-6 season record. The Bears come into the bout with a 6-3 record after their 57-27 league win over B-G-M (Brooklyn, IA).
