Gilbert Yellowjackets (Winsted, CT) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting Housatonic-Wamogo Mountaineers (Falls Village, CT), 60-31 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Gilbert upgrades its record to 3-2 on the campaign. The Yellowjackets host Northwestern Regional (Winsted, CT) to play the Highlanders in a Berkshire bout on Thursday, January 5. The Highlanders come into the bout with a record of 5-0. Northwestern Regional won 51-11 in their recent league bout against Wamogo (Litchfield, CT)

Next up, the Mountaineers play the Lewis Mills Spartans (Burlington, CT) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, January 5. Housatonic-Wamogo will attempt to upgrade on its 1-4 season record. The Spartans come into the bout with a 3-2 record after their 52-24 non-league win over Hartford Public (Hartford, CT).
